But this is precisely the type of fact-free assertion that special interests promote– often with millions of dollars– to rig our political system for their own gain. We see it in attacks on prevailing wage laws and labor unions, “trickle-down” tax policies, devastating cuts to public education, denial of climate science, and so much more.
Since 2013, ILEPI has been using industry-standard data analysis to highlight the impact of a broad range of public policies on workers, wages, taxpayers, businesses, and our economy. We don’t push a partisan agenda. We push an evidence-based agenda to describe what works, what doesn’t, and what is at stake if we make the wrong choices.
Increasingly, lawmakers, advocacy groups, and journalists are relying on us to not only push back against destructive legislative proposals and hold politicians accountable, but to shape the public debate in a way that advances the regional imperatives of economic revival and middle-class renewal.
