The Winter 2019 Edition of ILEPI’s newsletter, Illinois Insights, has been released.

The Illinois Economic Policy Institute (ILEPI) has released the Winter 2019 Edition of our quarterly newsletter, Illinois Insights. In this issue, we evaluate several proposals to legalize, regulate, and tax sports betting in Illinois. Two bills have been introduced in the Illinois General Assembly in 2018. A balanced sports betting legalization framework would increase gaming industry revenues by more than $500 million annually, create over 2,500 new jobs at nearly 90 licensed locations in Illinois, and enhance state tax revenues by up to $100 million annually.

In addition, the Winter Edition of Illinois Insights highlights ILEPI’s 2nd Annual Fundraiser on Monday, February 11th! We are so grateful to our supporters who make our work possible! Our timely and dynamic analyses are more important to the policy debate in 2019 than ever before.

As always, we updated Illinois’ economic indicators. The State saw an increase of over 70,000 jobs from December 2017 to December 2018.
