The Fall 2019 Edition of ILEPI’s newsletter, Illinois Insights, has been released.
The Illinois Economic Policy Institute (ILEPI) has released the Fall 2019 Edition of our quarterly newsletter, Illinois Insights. The City of Chicago is considering fast-tracking their minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2021 before the entire State hits $15 per hour. As a result, 430,000 workers in Chicago would be directly impacted with higher annual earnings.
In addition, the Fall Edition of Illinois Insights highlights ILEPI’s study on a national survey of registered nurses and their opinions on staffing standards in the workplace. Results from an October 2018 national survey of over 9,000 registered nurses in hospitals across the United States provides important new evidence on nurse staffing standards. As always, we updated Illinois’ economic indicators. Illinois has gained 65,500 jobs from August 2018 to August 2019, which is the 9th highest in the nation!
Be sure to check out the Fall 2019 Edition for all of this and more!
